The following study is being conducted by a Danish graduate student with whom B4U-ACT is collaborating. The study concerns a topic that is very relevant to the happiness and contentment of many if not most MAPs. MAPs who are interested in participating may click on the link given in the description below.

A Matter of Belonging

The purpose of this study is to collect data that provide knowledge about the lived experiences of belonging for minor-attracted persons (MAPs).

Due to prejudices and general stigma, many MAPs hide parts of their lives and do not share their thoughts and feelings related to their sexuality. The intention of this study is to create awareness on the subject of belonging, and how it influences MAPs’ well-being and self-acceptance.

I’m seeking participants who will share their thoughts and experiences of belonging. It could be the experience of belonging in a virtual world, offline, or maybe it’s your experiences of not belonging.

The study is divided into three sections to gain an understanding on how your put your life into words, and how you believe MAPs are viewed by society. This would help get a better understanding of how you choose to live as a MAP, and how you choose your relations to be.

If you would like to contribute to this research, simply fill out the online questionnaire here:

Please be assured that everything that you disclose in the questionnaire will be completely anonymous and will be handled with utmost respect and care.

Male MAPs are needed to complete a survey that examines wanted and unwanted sexual experiences during childhood as well as cognitive development (and other developmentally relevant factors) among adult men with different sexual orientations. In contrast to most research in this area, the researchers want to shed light on the experiences of community men with and without sexual interests in minors instead of forensic samples. For every participant who completes the survey, the researchers will donate $1.50 to B4U-ACT (max. $300).

B4U-ACT regularly collaborates with and advertises studies we feel will contribute to professional understanding of MAPs and/or to MAPs’ well-being. If you are an MAP and you’d like to contribute to such professional understanding, please consider participating in the online study described below, being conducted by a master’s student from Vrije University in Amsterdam (the Netherlands), in cooperation with the University of Ottawa and the Royal Mental Hospital (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada):

We are looking for adult men or women (18 or older) who are attracted to children (14 or younger) to complete a secure, anonymous online survey. The survey has two parts:

Survey 1 asks questions about experiences of sexual and romantic attraction to children (and adults, if relevant).

Survey 2 is about the physical and psychological characteristics that are attractive about children (and adults, if relevant).

Each survey takes about 10-15 minutes. The study is completely anonymous. After each first study, you will be asked if you would like to participate in the other study. This is totally voluntary.

To enter Study 1 about attraction to children (and adults), please go to the following link: https://ifpresearch.rohcg.on.ca/Sexual-and-romantic-attraction-in-persons-with-pedohebephilia.aspx

To enter Study 2 about features that are attractive about children (and adults), please go to the following link: https://ifpresearch.rohcg.on.ca/Physical-and-psychological-preferences-for-persons-with-pedohebephilia.aspx
